I am interested in the constant cycle of decay and repair. I have always been intrigued by examples of this within the urban environment - rust stains on aged concrete structures, box cars with remnants of graffiti, the on-going process of construction; tearing down and building up. This tainted landscape allures because it exposes our true desire to mask imperfection. This effort to conceal usually results in highlighting the imperfection and, inevitably, giving it more meaning.

Over the past two years rather than look for inspiration in the urban environment, I took a different approach. I began with incomplete work and disassembled, reassembled, destroyed, and repaired it, again and again, until the work was resolved.
